Tell us about your race (limit 500 words)…: So this turned out to be the race I learned the valuable lesson that every second counts. I put hundredths of seconds for my time because I was beat by .6s. That’s right…winning time for my AG was 1:09:02.25.

Fairly uneventful swim. One thing I would like to mention though is at the last TSF OWS clinic I realized that I was not swimming in to shore far enough to finish the swim. This race I felt like I had a really solid transition from water to land. As soon as I stopped stroking I was up and running. It sounds like the consensus was the swim was roughly a minute longer this year which is good for me because I was only 10s slower. However, there is still much work to be done in that discipline.

I love this bike course and it suits me well. I managed a good split while setting myself up for a stronger run than at the Macon event. I pushed the bike a touch too hard there and paid for it on the initial run uphill.

My legs didn’t feel incredible on the run, but I have done zero hard bike/run training bricks so I can’t really be too upset. The bad news is I was passed by three people on the run, but the good news is two of them were TSF folks! First it was Keith Marshall and then Katie June caught me before mile 1. I set a quick goal to keep her within sight the rest of the way and I managed to do that up until the last turn. It was amazing watching her run as her head and shoulders NEVER move.
