Tell us about your race (limit 500 words)…: Drenching rain, thunder,lighting perfect day for a triathlon. Opting for a family event with adult and kids triathlons I competed in the Just-Tri-It Habitat to benefit the Habitat for Humanity. This was a grueling rain soaked hilly race from start to finish. Note to self carbon wheels, cork brakes ok except for stopping in the rain. For a race just to keep the juices flowing until Nationals was very challenging and demanding. I was edged out of the podium finish by an 18 year old by 15 seconds. The highlight of the event was my son finishing 11th overall and 2nd in his age group for his first placement in a triathlon. Hannah Meadows, elite junior triathlete, who had been working with my kids swimming, would have been proud as he blow his competition out the water. The Chattahoochee Country Club was a wonderful setting for this event.
