Tell us about your race (limit 500 words)…: I felt good on the swim. The swim was strong and fast for me, thanks to the current. Going out on the bike I felt strong. I was flying down that highway on the first half. The second half on the bike how ever, my stomach felt weird. Not enough to make me stop, but it didn’t feel right. Around mile 18, I got stuck in a pack of about 10-15 riders and was forced to pass them on the right. Knowing my luck, an official came up, looked at me, and wrote something down. I don’t know if it was a penalty on me, but it threw my mind off and everything went down hill after that.
I came in to transition and completely blew by my stuff, not a big deal. But going out on that run, I just had pain in my back and my stomach. At mile 2 I pulled out, I was just sick about everything not going right that day.
The rest of that day, I regreted pulling out. I should have pushed through everything and just gutted it out.
Lesson learned: Push throught pain, never give up.

We are proud of you Brian! I know it is hard having a bad race, but that just makes you more ready to rip it up at the next race. Keep thinking positively and cannot wait to see how you do on your next race!
