Race Name: 4th of July Weekend Tempo Brick

Race Date: 7/3/10 – 7/4/10

Race Placement/Time/Qualification: N/A, 49.19 Bike, 22 hour transition, 36:11 run

Tell us about your race (limit 500 words)…: This race was a mixed bag for me. I was extremely pleased with my bike averaging 25.7 MPH over a very hilly and curvy 21 mile course, and very pleased with my 10K run running 36:11 and finishing comfortably, but I wasn’t happy at all with my transition time… about 22 hours. I think I can improve on this by:

1. Not eating three meals
2. Not taking a 3 hour nap.
3. Not watching 4 hours of the tour.
3. Not sleeping for 7 hours.

At this time of year last year I was missing a ton of workouts, and then I did Chattanooga and really sucked it up. As they say in the tour, I’m “in great form” right now and I think I’ll really crush Chattanooga.

And if you’re confused I’m talking about the GA State TT Championship yesterday, and the Peachtree Road Race today. Last year’s time was 38:00 flat and felt like I was going to die. Very happy with a comfortable 36:11 (although amazing weather does help with that).
