Team SF turns up the heat at IronGirl Atlanta
The season is well under way for Team Sport Factory, and the women’s team continued the momentum with an impressive showing on Sunday 6/27 at IronGirl at Lake Lanier. They racked up 4 of the Top 10 spots Overall and even swept the top three awards in the 14-19 age group. In fact, every team member on our Age Group team secured a podium spot!
Leading the pack in second place overall was one of our junior elite members, Katie June. Katie had an impressive bike split and one of only four sub-20 minute run splits to lead the team. With IronGirl only placing the overall winner, this put Katie in first place in her age group (14-19). Also in that age group was 15 year old Hannah Meadows.
She placed 9th overall and 2nd in
the age group despite some challenges in the water with her timing chip. Both Katie and Hannah are coached by Holly Marzetti. Rounding out the age
group was 18 year old Lauren Kester in 3rd place. Lauren posted the fastest run split of the day with a blazing 18:43 run! Smoking fast!
Next in overall placements was Lauren’s mom, Kris Kester. She placed fifth overall and first in her age group (45-49). Kris has always been a top performer and she proved again that she is still in top racing shape.
In the 35-39 age group, Jennifer Lesser placed 2nd and was 8th overall. Posting the third fastest swim split of the day, she was challenged by some very fast girls in her age group and held on for the top ten placement. Jennifer is coached by Matt Russ.
Jo Adamson is still showing top form in the 60-64 age group. She took first in her category and is still working hard out there!
It was great to have the support of the male Sport Factory athletes and coaches. Seeing so many familiar faces and hearing the cheers made for a great day! Way to go Team SF! We are racking up the placements in the 2010 season.

Great job SF ladies!
