Tell us about your race (limit 500 words)…: First time doing this race and I loved it! The lake and surrounding are so beautiful. It was great to see so many TSF athletes there. The junior elite team was simply amazing and so fun to watch.

The swim was a bit shorter than advertised which is to my advantage as far as placement goes. Towards the end of the bike I passed a couple of TSF guys and some Elite kids and it gave me the feeling that I had blown my run. My legs felt great, but my HR was running just a touch high. I can’t run hills, even the gradual incline at Macon and I ended up paying for my bike split. My HR went berserk on the out incline and twice I was reduced to a walk. I was really disappointed in myself because I know better. At the turn around I picked it up and finished relatively strong.

Very fortunate to get an AG slot as it seemed like the other AG’s were so much stronger. The winner of my AG passed me during one of my walks and although he was in sight the whole time I just couldn’t catch him.
