Tell us about your race (limit 500 words)…: I thought Florida 70.3 was hot, but West Point Lake lived up to its reputation for having one of the most brutal run legs for an olympic distance triathlon. I thought I was in the Caribbean during the swim with water temperatures close to 90 degrees. (It would have been helpful to have a water station at the turn bouy). I tried to conserve energy on my bike because I could feel the temp just rising and it paid off for my on the run. Although not my fastest run, I paced well and steady to move from 18th out of T1 to 3rd in my AG. Crossing the Dam was damn hot! Great to see all of the Sport Factory Athletes performing well and take 1st OA male.
