Tell us about your race (limit 500 words)…: The Collins Hill super sprint is part of a three race series to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer’s. This is near to my heart as my Grandma O’Brien recently lost her battle with the disease. I could not think of a better way to honor my grandmother than to support this race and go for it100% in her memory. Grandma never missed a track meet and always told me I was number one.
As I was tucked into the aero bars I was inspired by the G on my left hand and O on my right, GO for Grandma O’Brien. I did GO, getting clocked at 45mph by the lead car.
I truly enjoyed the last few hundred yards as I felt my grandmas positive Irish spirit come over me. I love you Grand Ma O.
On a lighter note as I was warming up I noticed a team USA speed suit. So as I am sizing up my competition it turns out he was 13!! Come on, who wants to loose to a 13 year old. I think the name was Gray, and in a few years he will be a force out there.

Jason, thanks for sharing about Grandma O’Brien, what a great way to race keeping her spirit with you throughout. But did you get a speeding ticket while getting clocked?
