Tell us about your race (limit 500 words)…: I was adopted by the Marshall family this weekend since prom and trips to Rome trump triathlons and my family could not make it up to SC. So thank you Marshalls for looking after me for a couple of days!
This was my first tri of the season (a little later than usual), but it was a great race to kick off with. I did this race last year and was really hoping on improving my bike time. I was able to take 2.5 minutes off my bike time thanks to Mr. Marshall’s advice of telling myself “keep going fast…” during the whole bike ride (you sort of have to for an 11 mile bike). I think everyone would agree that the run was hot and humid so there were not that many 5k PRs, but it was a solid start to the season.
