Tell us about your race (limit 500 words)…: This was a first year race put on by a group in Rome GA that also hosts a kids race at the Darlington School. I found out about it when I signed my daughter up for the kids event and decided to give it a go. The swim was in whatever river runs through downtown Rome (Etowah?) and was ridiculously fast. It was advertised as a 1.1 mile swim and I was out of the water in 14:40. The bike was a nice scenic course around the area that had some rollers and one big hill. Overall a fast ride and my bike split was 1:09. The run was along the river and circled around the Rome Braves stadium and then back to town where the finish was on the town green in front of city hall. I was happy with my run 44:14 which was good for fastest in the M35-39 AG and 3rd fastest overall. For a small race I thought that it was well run and I would definitely do it again next year.
