Team Member: Andi Dunlop

Race Name: Turtle Crawl Olympic

Race Date: 5/15/10

Race Placement/Time/Qualification: 8th/81 OA Female; 2nd OA Masters Female

Tell us about your race (limit 500 words)…: I was happy with my overall placement given the race conditions and the fact that I haven’t done a triathlon in 2 years.

We definitely got our money’s worth on the swim this year. Apparently the swim times were double+ previous years. When I ran toward transition I prepared myself to be one of the last bikes in transition. Wrong! Almost all bikes were still on my rack – and elsewhere. That was a nice surprise because I can never tell if the swim is tough in general or if I (a weaker swimmer) am just having a tough swim!

The bike course was longer this year (28.8 miles) and was the opposite direction around the island from previous years. This made for some fun headwinds.

Overall, I had a lot of fun and this has become one of my favorite races. It was great to see so many TSF athletes. It was another excellent race put on by Georgia Multisports!

That’s an interesting way to put it, i.e. “getting your money’s worth!” Sometimes I don’t want to get such a good “deal!”

Great job on nailing #2 Masters in a tough race. You have more determination in your big toe than most people have in their whole body.

It’s going to be a great year.
