Name: Christin Smith

Age: 33

Personal: : I grew up in Roswell, Ga and currently live and work in Alparetta. I am a Speech Pathologist in a private clinic setting and work with special needs children. I have a 2 year old boxer mix dog who has several “quirks” that tend to keep me challenged in the world of dog behavior and training!!!

I have been cycling and running primarily for fitness for a few years now, but am now finding myself wanting more of a challenge. I signed up for my first sprint triathlon this summer; therefore, I have added swimming into the mix which has been a HUGE challenge!! BUT, I am sticking to it and making some progress (I think anyway!!!)

I have yet to find a good base of friends who share the interest of athletics and participation in multi-sports. I am interested in expanding my knowledge of each sport, progressing and improving my skills, and meeting new people who are involved in these sports and who can provide inspiration and motivation to keep challenging myself!!! Happy to have learned of The Sport Factory and am looking forward to becoming more involved!

Athletic experience/accomplishments: I feel I have always been a pretty coordinated and athletic person; however, I have become more involved in various activities the older I have become. I was a cheerleader in high school (if that counts!!)and began cycling and running about 4 or 5 years ago.

I participated in the MS 150 bike ride a few years ago and have done several charity 5K races along the way. I am now venturing on to my first sprint triathlon this summer and am interested in increasing my skills so I can begin participating in more events (assuming I survive my first tri!!!!!!!) =)

2010 Goals: My current goal is to have a great finish at the Iron Girl Triathlon. I would like to finish with a respectable time (even though at this point, I have no idea what that time might be!! ha!)

Inspiration: Other athletes that have accomplished so much and do so with a smile on their faces! Also, the feeling of doing something you thought you would never do!
