Race Placement/Time/Qualification: 3rd place Cat 4 female

Tell us about your race (limit 500 words)…: I’m just starting to enter cycling races, and this was my first attempt at a criterium and a road race. I was really nervous about the criterium and made a lot of beginner mistakes, but I was the only Cat 4 rider who didn’t drop out and I was glad to finish without crashing on a turn. The road race this morning was a much better experience despite the weather. I stayed with the main pack of female riders and took my turn pulling on most of the climbs. I really missed my aero bars and I’m still working to find a good position on my road bike for extended races. I’m excited for the next race in Chickamauga in April, but I think I may stick to the road race and time trial.
