Name: Lauren Kester

Age: 17

Personal: : I have lived in Atlanta all of my life; I have a younger brother and a younger sister. I am in the 11th grade at Greater Atlanta Christian School. I am on the cross country, track, and swim team there. I played soccer and swam for years growing up, but started running in 7th grade and loved it. I have been with the Sport Factory for 3 years now. My parents are both triathletes and have done numerous Ironmans. I used to think that if we went on vacation it meant there was a race we were going to!

Athletic experience/accomplishments: My first triathlon was an Ironkids race in Panama City, FL. I have done other ones in Alpharetta and I did well. My first sprint tri was at Acworth in 2006. In 2008, I got 2nd overall at the Tellico Sprint tri and 1st in my age group at the Irongirl Atlanta. In 2009 I was 2nd in my age group at the Irongirl Atlanta and 11th overall.

In high school sports, I was state champion in the 2 mile last year and runner up in the 1 mile.

2010 Goals: I want to participate in a couple of sprint tri’s this summer and win my age group.
I would like to qualify for state in track in the 1 and 2 mile.
