Personal: : I came to Atlanta from the beautiful west coast 22 years ago to attend Georgia Tech (go jackets!). My husband and I meet while we were students at Tech and we have been married for 17 years now. We have a 13-year-old daughter and two crazy dogs. Although my husband does not do triathlons, he is extremely supportive of my training and racing. I’m very lucky – he’s the best!
In addition to being a wife and mother, I work full-time at Emory University in Financial Operations and am a part-time Masters student at Georgia State University.
Athletic experience/accomplishments: I have been a runner off and on for most of my life, and began running marathons in 1998 and competing in triathlons in 1999. I have completed a variety of triathlon distances ranging from sprint to ironman. I took several years off from racing due to a number of factors: work, other sports goals, and injuries. I am now able to get back into the sport that I love. I thrive on the challenge.
2010 Goals: My goals are to attain some of the biking strength and running speed that I’ve lost, to place in my age group, to take nutrition seriously (no refined grains or processed foods), to meet cool people and to have FUN!
Inspiration: Ordinary people accomplishing extraordinary things
