Todd Olson
Age: 41
Coach: Amy Kloner
Personal: : Born and raised in Minnesota I really have no idea why I am using a coach in Atlanta (anything south of the Mason Dixon line makes me nervous), but it is the best decision I have made. In the short time I have been with the Sport Factory team I have seen major gains in fitness and attitude. My coach is fantastic! I have a wife and two kids and a three-legged pit bull type dog. One of those thinks I am the king – that would be the dog. I was a commercial interior designer until I got a call from the CFO of the firm I was working for. I won’t bore you with the details. So now I play the lottery, spend a lot of time at the coffee shop and keep the house clean. I try to fit training into that busy schedule. It seems to be working.
Athletic experience/accomplishments: I am in my third year of doing marathons and triathlons. I’ve run four marathons, completed two half-ironman distance tris and run another handful of shorter road races and tris. I come to this latest adventure with years of swimming experience in high school and college. I also ran cross country for a few years in high school. The highlight of my cross country career was my high score on Centipede. For about ten years prior to getting on the running “bandwagon” I did very little. I won’t be going back there.
2010 Goals: I have two “A” races for 2010 – Honu 70.3 in Kona in June and Ironman Wisconsin in September, my first Ironman. Other than those races, I am aiming to get as fast as possible and not just finish, but compete.
