Marc Seitz
Name: Marc Seitz
Age: 29
Coach: Matt Hanson
Personal: : I am a small animal veterinarian with a wonderful wife and an energetic chocolate lab. Simplicity, curiosity, and love guide my life. I enjoy athletics because they are in essence a form of moving meditation to clear the mind. Competition is fun because it provides a microcosm where the greater lessons of life can be practiced and learned. My goals are to stay healthy with continued improvement each year.
Athletic experience/accomplishments: I come from a martial arts background. My relationship with triathlon started only two years ago when I moved to Atlanta. Having run and swam in high school, I figured biking couldn’t be that hard. Alas, life always has humbling experiences to offer. My accomplishments to date are mostly completion in nature. In two years, I’ve slowly built from sprint, to Olympic, to 70.3 without any formal training…until this year.
2010 Goals:
1. Recover from Augusta 70.3…check
2. Find a coach…check
3. Learn all that I can from my coach…
4. Learn to actually race (not just complete) an Olympic distance event…
5. Have fun and continue to meet people…
6. If previous goals are met, end the season w/ a second 70.3 for fun to celebrate a great year.
Inspiration: Gratitude and the thought of what could be.
