Tell us about your race (limit 500 words)…: This was my first Ironman, and I had to fit it into a very crazy work schedule. Coach Chris Zimmer built out a plan that made it work – relatively easily! Race day was a real joy. A bit rougher seas than previous days, and some good headwinds on the bike, but nothing too bad. Just took the event very easily and made sure to enjoy the day, finish healthy and happy, and keep a smile on my face the entire time.
Special thanks to my wife, Leslie, and kids for allowing me the chance to attempt the Ironman distance, to Matt Russ and Chris Zimmer, and to coaches Kevin Patton, Matt Hanson and Brett Daniels for advice, tips, encouragement and support along the way. Thanks, guys! It was truly a great day.
