Tell us about your race (limit 250 words)…: Went into the race confident but with no real expectations due to multiple setbacks we had to overcome the months leading up to the race. After being molested multiple times in the water and posting a swim time 30 seconds faster than last year, I got on the bike and executed our race plan. Calves, hamstrings and quads starting cramping around mile 60 and remained that way until I crossed the finish line with tears of exhaustion, pain and disappointment in my eyes. While the run is typically my strongest leg, I questioned if I could even finish, let alone post the run time necessary to secure a Kona slot. Relied on the passion in my heart and support from my family, teammates and friends to carry me the last 10 miles of the run. I could not have made this dream of mine a reality without the guidance and support from Matt Russ, Gerry Halphen, Maja Gottlieb and countless other people.
