Tell us about your race (limit 250 words)…: Major accomplishment this race was taking 52 minutes off my prior Ironman race. Woke up the morning of the race with a sore throat and knew something was coming, but chose to ignore it. Let the adrenaline of race day take over and laid it all out. Swim was rough, took in a lot of water but a swift transition to a bike that was right on my target of 5:20 set me up well. Was on pace for my target time going into the run, but had to ease back on the calories during the bike so I was empty earlier than planned. Struggled from miles 8-20 and then kicked it in for the last 6. Overall happy with race, good experience and happy that my TEAMATES Angela Meyer and Gerry Halphen both qualifed for the Ironman World Championship in Kona!
