Tell us about your race (limit 250 words)…: I ran my first 10k race on this same course three years ago, and while I have taken almost 14 minutes off my time since then, I was not very happy with my 41:16 today. The only speedwork I’ve done has been for the 3200 in track, so I ran the first mile at my 3200 pace and got progressively slower from there. I managed to hang on for first place, despite bad pacing. I was disappointed because the winners received $500 AirTran gift cards, but I couldn’t take mine since I have to keep amateur status for high school sports/college.
