Tell us about your race (limit 250 words)…: New Orleans was a great first 70.3 of the season. There were some serious athletes at the start line, and I was excited to be a part of it! My swim was an improvement (33min), and it was actually a little long. The bike was mostly flat and fast for the first half, but then the headwinds took over and it was more challenging. I was pleased that my bike split was competitive among the female pros (2:27), and excited because I know that I have more in me. The run was TOUGH, mainly because of the humidity and heat on race day. I was a few minutes slower than I was expecting, but won’t complain about crossing the line with a 1:35 half marathon and 14th overall pro among a very competitive field. The race organization for the most part was very good, and crossing the line in the French Quarter made that last mile a bit less painful. Full race report HERE
