Tell us about your race (limit 250 words)… Great weather today. Lake warmed up a lot over the last 2 weeks. Good start to the swim, got kicked in the gut on 2nd leg; nothing too serious. My swim was rather slow, though I did pass some guys from the previous wave. T1 went well; narrow aisles were hard to get through and it was single file only which slowed me down. Mounting the bike was a disaster for me, as always, and I had to weave around a few that were worse than me! Once on the bike, things went well, and I was pleased with my bike performance, maintaining my planned cadence and probably my fastest average speed to date. AND the flying dismount worked just as planned – YAY!! T2 went well, even though I ran into the wrong row – woops – but recovered quickly and was off. The run, well, the run was utterly disappointing for me – the hills – those brutal hills – won today. For me, this was a tough run course, and it showed in my time; definitely not what I was planning. Overall, my time was slower than I had planned – need to work on the hills! …and the bike mount.
Congrats to Katherine Tindol with her smokin time of 1:04.
