Name: Dennis Reardon

Age: 36

Coach: Rich Klepacz

Personal: I have been lucky to be involved in such a great sport as triathlon for 18 years now. I have seen a lot of changes to the sport, been to places that I would never have imagined, and made many great friends. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

This past year has been a new and wonderful experience for my wife and I.  On July 3, 2009 at 3:01P.M.,  Jaydene gave birth to our beautiful daughter Adilee Grace.  Our lives have changed for the best.  We love  watching as she has grown these past 6 months.  From diaper changing, to feedings, to not sleeping, we wouldn’t miss our new adventure with our baby Adi!

Professionally, I have been practicing veterinary medicine as a small animal practitioner for 10 years. I received my undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University and my doctorate from Tuskegee University. This will be my fourth year racing for Matt Russ and the Sport Factory Elite team. I have enjoyed being a part of such a great group of people and look forward to the upcoming season.

dennis_clearwater-finishAthletic experience/accomplishments: I have been fortunate to represent the United States three times as a member of the National Triathlon team. I have earned several All American honors and have won two state championships. I have completed two Ironmans and plan on doing more in the future.

I started the year off well with a personal record of 1:53:55 at the Turtle Crawl Triathlon in Jekyll Island, GA.  I again had the opportunity to race at the Best of the U.S. National Championship in Mission Viejo, CA for the second year in a row.  I represented Georgia by improving my placement 7 slots to finish 22nd overall.  I finished the racing season by winning the Lake Lanier Triathlon and beating my winning time from 2 years ago.   By the end of 2009, I earned All American honors.
