Tyler Campbell
Age: 17
Personal: Currently I am a senior at Milton High School. When I’m not racing or training I enjoy going out with friends, coffee, frisbee, and some more coffee. I began with many traditional sports, such as soccer and baseball when I was younger. However, when I reached freshmen year of high school I found myself doing nothing. This lasted until my Junior year, when I decided I’d try to do something.
That was when I picked up running, and I remember my first run lasting 10 minutes. I returned from the run with cramps, shin splints, and a headache. I remember my only thought after that, “I hate this, there’s no way I will do this again”. But the following day I ran again, I wasn’t even sure why I put myself through it, but I did. From there I gradually started running longer, and fortunately found The Sport Factory to help me train.
2008 Accomplishments:
2008 Silver Comet Half Marathon- 1:25:47 – 2nd in AG
2008 Cordele Duathlon- 2nd overall
2008 Tri the Parks Mistletoe Duathlon- 2nd overall
2009 Goals: My main goal is qualify for the Duathlon short course world championships. I will be competing in the National Duathlon Championship in Richmond, Virginia. I am also doing multiple sprint duathlons and 10ks. I’d like to lower my 10k time, and of course have a fun season. As a side goal I’d like to beat Gerry Halphen in both a squat and push-up competition.
