Coach: Matt Russ

Age: 41

Personal: Married (husband is also a competitive cyclist); work as a senior manager at a global engineering firm by day, race and coach by night. I took the 2007 season off to start a family – my daughter, Lillian Jane, was born on December 17, 2007.  My goal is to race at my potential. Competition always pushes me beyond what I ever thought I was capable of, yet it keeps me humble because I know the effort that goes into a successful race. I am also a Sport Factory coach and will continue to build upon my coaching experience and achieve higher levels of coaching certification in 2008.

Competitive History:

I believe that every time I show up at the start line is an accomplishment, but here are a few of my results.
2nd at 24 Hour World Championships in SS category (2003, 2004)
1st – NORBA National Champs 24 Hour SS category (2003)
1st – Test of Metal SS category (2002, 2003)
1st – Oregon State Cross Champs – master (2002)
1st – Cross Crusade Series Overall – master (2002)
1st – 24 Hours of Adrenalin (Canmore) – five person SS team co-ed (2006)
2nd – Canadian Natl Cross Champs – master (2001)
3rd – Canadian Natl Cross Champs – master (2003, 2006)
3rd – 24 Hours of Adrenalin (Laguna Seca) – five person SS team women (2005)
4th – Cross Crusade Series Overall – Pro (2005)
TransRockies Finisher (2004)
