Age: 48

Coach: Matt Russ

Personal: I am currently a physician at Emory University as the medical director of the stroke and brain injury rehabilitation units at Center for Rehabilitation Medicine. I enjoy training for my events and also love skiing with my 2 children and wife. Competing allows me to optimize my health and fitness while having fun. While battling significant weight problems in the past, I find training for events allows me to stay fit while having a great time.

Past race results:
2008 Tri 2 Remember Sprint Triathlon: 2nd Masters.
2008 Emerald Pointe Georgia State Sprint Championship: 4th AG.
2007 Williams 10K for Brain Tumor Research: 1st AG.

2009 Goals:
My main goal is to achieve optimal fittness while having a great time training and competing in my first full triathlon season. I plan on doing my first 70.3 Ironman in Orlando, FL this May in an attempt to qualify for Clearwater, FL 70.3. I plan on various distance triathlons during the summer including the Chicago international distance in August and finish with the inaugural 70.3 Ironman in Augusta, GA in September.
