Zach Middlebrooks
Name: Zach Middlebrooks
Age: 31
Coach: Rich Klepacz
Personal: : My wife Melissa and I moved to Alpharetta 8 years ago after graduating from Auburn – she is extremely patient and supportive! We have two awesome boys – Austin (4) and Logan (2). Austin has already “competed” in his first race, the US 10k Classic Kids Run, and loves to ride his bike – his little brother is not far behind!
Athletic experience/accomplishments: I started running in the Fall of ’07 due to a minor health issue and with a goal of a healthier lifestyle – I ran my first ever race, a 5k, December of ’07. Since that time, I have competed in a number of races from 5k to 1/2 marathon with continued improvement in each event.
2009 Goals: 09 is my first season of triathlon, so I plan to enter several different events/distances to determine which is best suited for me. Being from Augusta, my target race for the year is Augusta 70.3 with (2) sprints and (2) olympics along the way.
Inspiration: My two boys – I want to instill in them a healthy/active lifestyle and teach them that any goal is achievable with hard work and dedication. I am also inspired by the medically challenged competitors I see and meet at races – their stories are awesome and cause me to put life/competition into perspective.
